Welcome. This is the full interview process for our first Business Operations hire, front to back, so none of it is a surprise. Every stage is real work, not trivia: you should finish it knowing whether you'd love this job, and we should finish it knowing you'd be great at it. We move fast (first call to offer in about 3-4 weeks), and every stage runs both ways: you're sizing us up as much as we're sizing you up. We value agency, AI-native judgment, and nothing dropped.

The process at a glance

Stage Format Time
1. Founder screen with Michelle Intro conversation 15-20 min
2. Take-home Async build, on your own time ~2 hrs
3. Founder screen with Max Walkthrough of your take-home with Max 30 min
4. Work trial A paid day doing the actual job, in office 1 day (paid)
5. References Conversations with people you've worked with ~5 chats
6. Offer Decision Fast

Stage 1: Founder screen with Michelle (15-20 min)

Your story, what you've built, what you're looking for next, and why Flint might (or might not) be the place. We’ll also ask you to demo a Claude/AI app or workflow you’ve built.

Stage 2: Take-home (async, ~2 hours)

A short build that mirrors the actual job: a customer-health view plus the outreach to act on it, using a synthetic dataset we hand you. Use Claude Code (or whatever you build with) — we want to see how you work with AI. There's a separate one-pager for this with everything you need. Hard 2-hour box; we care about prioritization, not polish.

Stage 3: Founder screen with Max (30 min)

Max, our co-founder and CTO, reviews your take-home with you. You'll walk him through what you built; he'll dig into your reasoning, pull on a few threads, and throw a curveball or two ("this account you called healthy just churned. What did you miss?"). We're looking for someone who owns their thinking and doesn't drop the thread under pressure.

Stage 4: Work trial (a paid day, in office)

The real thing. You embed with us on an actual project (think: build the growth model we don't have yet), with real tools and real data under an NDA. You'll see how we operate day-to-day, and we'll see how you do. This day is paid. It's also your best chance to decide whether this is the room you want to be in.

Stage 5: References (5 conversations)

We talk with people you've worked with. We'll ask you to help line them up, and we'll move quickly.

Stage 6: Offer

If it's a fit on both sides, we move fast here too.
